Overview
MwareTV is an OTT platform that brings video, audio and live TV together in one service, across multiple platforms. These designs are for MwareTV’s own app, available on every platform (TV, web, mobile and tablet), with live TV, movies, series, podcasts, audiobooks, music, radio, games and more, plus mixed playlists, vertical short video, renting and buying, credits and an AI assistant. The same platform powers the Heritage+, Ekkl, Azteca and Claro Video apps in this portfolio.
My role
Product Designer. I designed the product’s experience across platforms and the patterns each media type shares. I also designed the components, the component library and the colour palettes, with all the graphics, images and banners in them.
Design approach
- One player for every media type. Video, podcasts and audiobooks share a player layout. Audiobooks add chapters, and podcasts add a switch between video and audio.
- An assistant that stays out of the way. On TV, MwareAI opens as a side panel with suggested prompts (“How to add a favourite?”), next to the content rather than over it.
- Buying inside the flow. A premium offer sits on the home screen, and rent or buy opens as a sheet over the title.
- Formats for the phone. A vertical feed for short videos and vertical series sit beside the classic home and episode lists.
- Keep people watching. A next-episode card appears at the end of an episode, and playlists can mix shorts, courses and series.
