TraceItX
The website of a bug-reporting tool for TV and mobile apps: new platform images and a reworked home page.
Overview
TraceItX captures a native screenshot, the console and network state, and the trail of screens that led to a bug, then sends the report to a webhook or a dashboard. On its website, I updated the images that show the “Report a bug” overlay on every supported platform, and reworked the home page’s structure and logic.
My role
UX Designer. I updated the platform images on the website, one for each TV and mobile platform TraceItX supports, and reworked the structure and logic of the home page.
Design approach
- One set, ten platforms. Each image places the same report card inside that platform’s own interface (Android TV, Apple TV, Fire TV, Roku, Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Vega OS, the web, iPhone and Android phones), so the series reads as one consistent set.
- Showing how it works on a TV. The TV images show the QR code and device code a tester uses to file the report from a phone or the dashboard; the phone and web images show the short form with the screenshot attached.
- A home page that follows the product. I reorganised the home page’s sections and the order they appear in, so the page explains the product step by step.
Key responsibilities
- Platform images for the website, one per supported TV and mobile platform
- Home page structure and logic
